Last month, New York City Mayor de Blasio released a new report, “The State of Climate Knowledge 2021,” co-authored by the Consortium for Climate Risk in the Urban Northeast (CCRUN), a CPO RISA team. The report outlines New York City’s climate research priorities and identifies knowledge gaps for future study, communicating needs to external partners including academic scientists, federal researchers, philanthropic foundations, and community organizations. It’s an important step in integrating sustained assessment into New York City climate adaptation planning, and will catalyze new and creative partnerships to develop credible and actionable research products that address NYC’s most pressing climate challenges.
