Roadmap for Adapting to Coastal Risk

This 3-hour training introduces the 'Roadmap' assessment approach to help communities assess their exposure to hazards & climate threats.

Three hours of certification maintenance credits for this course have been approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners. The aim is to help planners and developers assess how they may integrate this information into action plans to address coastal community issues.

The training is offered virtually by NOAA's Coastal Services Center on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 1-4 p.m. EDT.  Please click to sign up and fill out the registration form.  Logistical information will be sent to you before the training.  

What you will learn:

After completing this course, participants will be able to...

• Understand key issues and impacts associated with current and future coastal hazard risks

• Identify major elements of community vulnerability

• Develop strategic "win-win" approaches for reducing risks and vulnerabilities while also addressing other community issues

Participation requirements:

You will need Internet access, computer speakers, and a phone.  Adobe Connect software and user instructions will be provided by CSC in advance.
