Midwest & Great Plains Climate & Drought Webinar
Climate experts provide public briefings on the latest seasonal climate summary & outlook information for the Midwest & Great Plains.
Each month, a state climatologist and a NOAA regional climatologist conduct public webinars to brief interested members of the public about ongoing and near-future changing climate conditions in the Great Plains and Midwestern United States. This month Dennis Todey (South Dakota State Climatologist) will be presenting the latest climate summary and outlook information for the U.S. and specifically the north central region.
Presenters will continue to examine the current El Nino/La Nina situation (an El Nino Watch has been issued for this summer/fall) and provide a summary of current conditions across the region. Subject matter will include current snowpack, flood outlooks, soil moisture updates, drought, stream flow, and general temperature and precipitation trends. At the end of the presentation will be a Q&A session.
This month's webinar is scheduled for Thursday, April 17 at 1 p.m. Central Time (2 p.m. EST). To register, visit: http://drought.gov/
