CanVis Software Training
A 2-hour instructor-led introduction to CanVis — a software tool that helps users to envision changes in a place of interest.
This training is available through a live, interactive Web session conducted by personnel at NOAA's Coastal Services Center in which participants will learn the CanVis tool's functions, conduct hands-on exercises using the tool, and participate in discussions about potential tool applications. This course is a component of the Coastal Community Planning and Development training. Two hours of certification maintenance credits for this course have been approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners.
What Participants Will Learn
After completing this course, participants will be able to...
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of CanVis, including its advantages and limitations
- Understand which scenarios work best with CanVis
- Create visualizations using many of CanVis' tools and functions
- Explore future project ideas and potential applications
Participants will need telephone access and Adobe Connect software. Software and user instructions will be provided by the Center in advance of the event. Participants will need to install CanVis on their computer before the workshop.
